    Stayed at the Marriott Courtyard on 40th between 6th and Broadway this summer. Like a 10 minute (if that) walk to the Garden and it was both surprisingly affordable and nice.

    My last years on baseball, I liked the Residence in on Sixth Avenue and 39th Street. Short walk to Disneyland ... er, Times Square. Last time I was there, the game on Saturday was a day game, so my colleague and I (columnist also came on the trip) walked all the way to The Village to find a place for dinner. Stopped for a beer (or two) at a couple of places on the walk back.
