    Also, I must be too new to this site to know what all the Tahoe references are about. Been seeing them for a few months. I guess I could look back or search for it, but haven't.

    What, was "Roasted Nuts" already taken for the name of a thread?

    Fires + people losing property and their worldly possessions = a tragic situation.
     
  7. Hey folks,

    I have some good friends who work in NorCal and over in Reno. They have been up there and seen this devastation first-hand. More than 200 families have lost everything. We're not talking about rich people vacation homes -- South Tahoe is a working-class town. Winds are supposed to kick up today and can knock this thing out of control again. Optimistic reports are hoping for containment by Tuesday. This is some nasty, nasty stuff.

    I'm heading for Reno on Saturday for a week. We were planning a day-trip to Tahoe but probably won't now. Very sad.
