    Yep. He's a good pitcher but not great. As for the Giants, I don't think Sabes would go that route, especially after the Zito contact. If there are issues with the rotation, hopefully Crick will be ready.

    No more saying the Padres aren't trying to win, that's for sure.

    I've heard a few analysts say the Padres pretty much had to go for it given how much they have already spent. I'm not sure I buy that, but the new GM certainly isn't afraid to be aggressive.

    It's a lot of money, but he should have four more good years left in his arm.

    He probably won't be a cannon fodder #5 starter making 18 mil in the last year.
