    Two different guys. This was the tall, lean point shaver at Tulane. Hot Plate was the fat guy at LSU.

    I think Vecsey came up with Hot Plate for the other one.

    Hot Rod was nice piece on those Cavs teams that couldn't get past the Bulls. Really good sixth man, versatile guy.

    He played at Tulane and hit big scoring numbers amid little fanfare since no newspaper besides the Times-Pic did much of anything except use AP or UPI stories. Clarion-Ledger and rest of Mississippi was aware of this gunner down at TU and saw him a few times vs. Southern Miss. My friends and I all knew about him but he just didn't get the pub, and then the gambling deal hit and he was perhaps guilty though he beat the rap. Cancer is horrible, for sure.
