My library is CLOSED today. I can't remember the last snow day of my working life. How should I live it up today?? Shall I try to come the closest to the price without going over? Should I try to find a sled and a hill? Should I enconce myself on the couch with DVDs and hot chocolate? Should I go back to bed??

Police: Students posted fake snow-day notice on school's Web site

TRENTON, Ohio (AP) -- Two teenage girls posted a fake announcement on their school district's Web site that said school was closed for the day due to winter weather, police said.

The notice, posted Monday, confused many parents -- snow was not in the forecast -- and persuaded some students to stay home.

Edgewood City Schools Superintendent Tom York said he discovered the posting when he logged on to write his own announcement that school would be delayed for an hour because of an extreme cold snap.

"I didn't make that call, and I'm the guy who does, so I knew something was up," York said.

The two Edgewood High School students, whose names were not released, were charged in juvenile court on Friday and face expulsion. One of the girls, 16, was charged with delinquency by unauthorized use of a computer and by reason of records tampering. The other, 17, was charged with delinquency by reason of complicity, Sheriff's Sgt. Monte Mayer said.

    Booooooo ... snow day.

Ms. Bobcat flew back from London yesterday and has been stranded in Detroit for the better part of a day. She has missed three flights already and is looking at no fewer than 25 hours inside the airport with a bunch of impatient folks.

And I'm down South where folks pull on a winter coat when the temperature drops below 45 degrees. Gar.

I have friends in the MoTown area. Talked to one this morning. He said it ain't pretty up that way right now. He didn't go into work. Said there are drifts covering roads all over the place.

Boy, folks can't take a joke anymore. A friend and I once canceled a (public speaking) class in college. Went to the room 20 minutes ahead of time and posted a sign on the door. Everyone turned around and left. Worked like a charm.

Well to be fair, they did mess with the district Web site, as opposed to leaving a sign on the school doors.

That's what a friend of mine just told me. Said her whole city is shut down because of it.
