Y&T’s 1985 hit "Summertime Girls" received tremendous airplay worldwide, played frequently in the Baywatch television series and several feature films, remained at length in heavy rotation on MTV as well as MTV’s top video playlists, and the hit song gets regular airplay today on classic rock radio stations throughout the country alongside other Y&T hits. Y&T songs grace the soundtracks of numerous movies and television shows, and their popular videos for songs such as "Lipstick & Leather", "Don’t Stop Runnin'", "Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark", "Contagious", and "Summertime Girls" are still featured videos on VH1 today.

  6. I'm the same age as BYH and I've never seen or heard of these loosers or this song, so I had to look it up:

My older sister had the same outfit as the lead singer.

You know how I know BYH is in that video?

The tool-shed walking around with the shirt that said "TURBO"

Yes, I too loved that song.

I think BYH is right. If memory serves, Y&T recorded it in 1984, but radio didn't pick up on it until a year later. That's how ahead of the curve Y&T was.

FUCKING KILL ME NOW FOR EVEN ACTING LIKE I KNOW THAT!

Amazingly, that song wasn't total crap.

    Rather catchy, actually.

I don't remember this song at all but watching the vid it makes me want to get a fellowship to study the effects of 1980s videos on American culture.
