    A big difference with the Jason James Murphy case is that JJ Abrams and the production team behind "Super 8" reported things to authorities as soon as they realized the guy was working under an alias and was actually a convicted child sex abuser.

    I don't know whether this has always been going on and we're only finding out more because of cable news and a 24-hour news cycle but it sure seems as if the pervs are more prevelent in the last decade or so.

    I don't know, hondo. Sadly, VERY sadly, should we be surprised anymore? After the Graham James scandal here in Canada, can't say I'm stunned by Syracuse, Penn State or accusations in Hollywood.

    The worst thing about it is that so many of these institutions -- religious ones too -- have a vested interest in covering things up, not reporting them. Good on Abrams for being different.
