The Rose is better than Jeter thing is people fucking with Manky just like he fucks with everybody else here. Just look at the goofy shit he pulls. He claims Jeter averages 15-25 home runs per year. You look at the actual numbers and point out that his real average is 14 home runs per season, so Manky says he rounded up to 25. He's not even trying to be coherent any more.

Number of 50+ HR seasons during Pete Rose's career (1963-86): 2 -- Willie Mays (1965), George Foster (1977)

Number of 50+ HR seasons during Derek Jeter's career (1995-present): 24

A typical Jeter season is 14-24 HRs. I misspoke and said 15-25 when his career high (not including postseason HRs) is 24.

He's hit 20 homers twice in 18 seasons.

I think Jeter's a terrific player, but adjust your "typical" season down a bit.

Still beats a typical Rose season, which after age 30 was about 4 HRs.

You didn't read what I said. For players who did not juice, like Rose or Jeter, HRs were just as hard to hit in 1972 as they were in 2002. The difference in the eras is that there were a bunch of players on PEDs in the late 90s and early 00s so of course it appears that HRs were easier to hit in Jeter's era.

Congratulations, you found a picture of the one person with less credibility than outofplace.
