    The original question of could this work?

    Yes

    The two main concerns would be (1) leaking water from ground water and the roof and (2) the weight of the roof collapsing after snowfall and melts.

    Honestly, it should work, and it should last longer than a traditional home.

    This isn't the first guy to think about this.
