The Eagles would be near the top of any list I made of "Artists whose music I like but would never pay a dime to see live".

Saw ZZ Top, Kansas and somebody else in concert a few years ago in Roanoke.
They were flat. The one guitarist looked sick, stick thin.

    Love the Eagles music.

When my old roommate and I were in college together (1988-90), we swore we'd pay $100 for a ticket to see the Eagles play. And then when the band got back together, our $100 each probably went for 15 12-packs of Milwaukee's Best instead.

Seeing the Eagles live was better, like communism, in theory.

I didn't think he'd do "Moon River." But then, BAM! Second encore!

Henley and Frey would be all over your asses for calling them "The Eagles." Ahem, it's just plain "Eagles."

Did the doc address the what I presume is their spinoff, Eagles of Death Metal?

    That's a great song.

I've always been a huge Eagles fan, my dad loves them and used to play their stuff when I was a kid.

"So often it happens that we live our lives in chains, and we never even know we have the key."

    My favorite song lyric ever.

"One of These Nights" is a song I consider perfect.

I'm not the biggest Eagles fan in the world, but sumbitch they have some great songs. Some of their popular songs, like "Tequila Sunrise" leave me flat. Others, like "Midnight Flyer" are simply brilliant.

One Of These Nights is an amazing song, it's always been one of my favorite Eagles tracks. Lyin' Eyes is a guilty pleasure of mine also.

Buddy of mine used to play in a band that would occasionally bash out "Lyin' Eyes" even if it seemed the only line they knew was "She gets up and pours herself a strong one..."

Not even the chorus? You gotta know the chorus. :)

    Raven hair and ruby lips,
Sparks fly from her finger tips.
    Echoed voices in the night,
She’s a restless spirit on an endless flight.

Henley's rough voice on the opening verse of "Witchy Woman" is spooky-perfect.
