    Hate to tell you Cowbell, but hip hop artists sample beats from many genres, many decades and many cultures. I won't say race (even though you seem to think white people are the source of all hip hop) because music has more to do with culture, which usually extends beyond race.

    Oh, and many of those white artists from the '80s lifted their beats and melodies from black artists of the '50s, '60s and '70s.

    Well since you asked the question:
    I visited my cousin that lives in Oman(right below Saudi Arabia). All they listen to is Kanye West and Tupac.(mainly tupac)
