    As this interview demonstrates, the showrunners for HIMYM get a little too precious sometimes.

    Encouraging to see them acknowledge WHY people were so turned off by last season and lay out a plan to right the ship this year. I'd like to know what made them think making a bunch of standalone episodes with little long-term story building would be a good idea in the first place. Glad to see that's apparently out of their system.

    While standalones are supposed to hold up best in syndication, I think those will do the exact opposite. How many season 5 eps will people see and say, "Oh yeah, that was a great one!"? I'd much rather go back and re-watch "Nothing Good Happens After 2 a.m.", "Slap Bet" or the season 1 finale.
