If Hil had to reach north across the border for a campaign song, why couldn't she have pinched one from Alannis Morrissette or Arcade Fire?
I am still waiting for some progressive candidate to use Patti Smith's "People Have the Power" as a theme song.

  2. Let's see.
Bill had a Fleetwood Mac tune.
    Hill has Celine.
And they named their daughter after a Joni Mitchell song.
Someone send these people some DBT, stat!

The real question hear is why does she need a song in the first place?

The Clinton's have a rich history of picking songs. When Hillary kicked off her Senate campaign there she was on stage with Bill to the blaring sound of Captain Jack. They had expected New York State of Mind but staffer screwed up and left bill and hill on stage listening to Billy Joel sing about choking his chicken.

Lots of snickering was heard on the crowd.

    What next :

    Campaign color?
    Favorite team?
    Official Airline?

Just play some music don't take a chance that song you pick will cost you votes.

    Campaign music oddity before this:

Chris Dodd took the stage at a recent event to the Foo Fighters. I shit you not.

Same event, Joe Biden went with Fogerty's Centerfield.

If she wanted to go for the sappy sentimental segment of the female populace -- to me, that seems the point of this particular selection -- she might have done better selecting something from Josh Groban. CD is so 10 years ago.

Celine? Oh Mon Dieu

I am waiting for the news networks in the States to start the controversy of how Clinton picked a non American artist's song, especially a Canadian one. ::) Also, I would have picked a more hipper artist than Celine (no offence). While we Canucks should be flattered Mrs.Clinton chose a Canadian song/artist, it wasn't the best choice out there.

Campaign songs we wish they would have picked:

Bill Clinton: "There is no sex in the champagne room."

Al Gore: "Tin Man" (by America).

John Kerrey ("Rich Girl" ... by Hall and Oates, in honor of Theresa)
