    You could probably go on back to FDR. LBJ had his corporate bedfellows (he was from Texas and also had to cover some...things up). Left or right, the days of a true and honest person in politics are over, and have been since WWII. To get on the scene, you have to owe someone or corporation with deep pockets -- liberal or conservative. To win, you have to owe them your first born.

    I never even hinted that Democrats aren't guilty of pushing large corporations. But to call them out, when you've got what amounts to a group of NASCAR drivers with corporate sponsors on the Republican side of the aisle, seems a bit ... well, just wrong. Politics today is what it is. It's a cash-driven process from start to finish. The only difference between the Republicans and Democrats is the companies they're accepting the money from and the agenda that money creates. On an individual basis, there's also a matter of where some politicians will draw the line. For example, turning a bling eye to blatant price gouging in the oil market.
