The kid should have stayed in Fla. He went from playing in ESPN National TV game in August to all so ran in 6 months. Sure he won state championship but it will never be a fond memory for him.
His parents are hung up on idea that he is D1 QB - he is not.

    What is wrong with people?

You only get one chance to be a high school kid... my oldest sister had to change high schools after her sophomore year....

This was such a boneheaded move by the parents.

  3. Thanks for the update. Intersting. Not suprising, but interesting.

One other interesting sidebar. Great anger towards writer for getting the quotes from teammates. Felling is that it was unfair to put them on the spot.

Thing in Connecticut is you can play schools of a smaller size. New Canaan is MM I believe (Medium). They can go up against L or LL (large class) or down to play S (small). Its mostly geographic. In Texas you play your district, which are all schools of your size. That is why you travel 4-hours or more to play games on a Friday night.

There are also a decent number of high quality prospects that come out of the state. Florida is taking a qb from Wethersfield.

Obviously not but CT football is getting more visibility and respect.

There are some good individual D1 candidates but overall it is a D3/ Ivy shop.

One of things that killed Baty with scouts was level of competition. For the most part he was playing against F airfield county trust fund kids. When NC played against an inner city team from Bridgeport they were blown out. The DB's from Bridgeport close a lot quicker than Tommy Trustfund from Darien.
