Watched the No. 1 team in the nation beat North Gwinnett, which is coached by former Lexington Catholic coach Bob Sphire.

Wasn't impressed by North, but Byrnes has a really nice team.

I'm gonna guess you should use No. 1 team in the nation loosely if talking about a high school team from Kentucky.

Oh, and I watched a terrible 43-7 game. Fumble on the first play, touchdown on the next. It went from there.

Isn't SI's No. 1 team in the nation Euless (Texas) Trinity?

Not sure, but it should be.

Euless has a lot back and was really, really fucking good last season.

Euless Trinity plays John Curtis on Labor Day. That'll go down a treat.

Gola, Byrnes is from South Carolina and North Gwinnett is Georgia.

We only have two teams that should even sniff the top 25 nationally - Louisville St. Xavier and Louisville Trinity - but those two will beat up on each other twice this season if they both make it to the 6A championship game at PJCS.

Nope. And there was also a 73-0 game around here last night.

    We had scores of 52-0, 50-6, 57-0, 45-0, 55-8, 53-0, 60-14 and 63-0 around the state last night.

    Had 10 shut outs, too.

Nope, they're on the same side of the bracket. That is one game I've always wanted to see. There were some ridiculous scores in the Bluegrass State last night, it was almost as bad as the first round of playoff games.

I saw a good game last night. Unless you actually LIKE teams that can tackle and cover receivers, then maybe not so much. It was at least close and full of personal fouls!
