Rush Propst has had a Nike deal for years... his, umm, personal assistant has nike in their email name
I've never seen him wear anything other than a Nike something, save for a suit at the Mr. Football banquet

Nothing like taking the bus to the next town over for a nonleague game.

And in the Kirk Herbstreit Ohio vs. the USA Challenge in Cincinnati, New Jersey's best, Don Bosco Prep (QB by the name of Simms) rips Centerville, Ohio, 21-0.

Don Bosco Prep sounds like a mob school.

Reads like it should Don "Aluminum Bats" Bosco Prep.

Only a New York Times reporter parachuting in would think that's an original quote. ::)

Four of the Top 10 in Class 2A did go down this week, though. Watch out for the greatness of Boyd, Texas!

EDIT: So much for Boyd, who got punked by Whitewright to the tune of 41 points. When will be the next time Whitewright gets an SportsJournalists.com mention?

Kind of off topic (and might belong on the journalism thread).

I covered a game on Friday where a team was awarded five downs. It had no impact on the game, but do you mention it in your story?

    I didn't.

That wasn't an upset. Permian's an ancient shitpile now. Trinity is a defending state champion.

Does anyone know if Briscoe High won over the weekend?

Halfback pass from #21 to #18 on the final play of the game. Briscoe won 16-14. Mascot was suspended for taking his head off in public.
