Hey, that's my rag ...

There's a guy who strings for a neighboring paper who on occasion makes his way into our area when we have teams playing each other. He used to work at our paper, and whenever we see him, all he does is badmouth our paper.
Now, I complain about my paper all the time (among my co-workers, not to outsiders), and it bothers me when someone else starts badmouthing us.
I mean, yeah, I know I work at a rag, but it's my rag. I don't go around pointing out the faults of other peoples' papers. Stop ragging on my rag (OK, that one was a little forced, but you get the idea).

 

Call him a bombaclot next time you see him.

 

Stringer jobs are getting scarce. I bet you could pay a stringer $25 to rub him out.

Not doubt you could find some fault with his paper and with his stories in particular.

 

Tell him he should hear how they talk about him at his former rag.
