And the first tournament divided into A and AA was 1994, IIRC.

Leaves two years of limbo w the failed Tier experiments.

The stupid, stupid Tier I and II experiment was 92 and 93.

Of course, the tourney NEVER should have been divided into two classes!

Jeez, I thought you were one of the nice people around here. Smiley here.

(I can't use smileys. Hope Douglas gets things fixed)

Edit: But if you really want to learn more about that program, read "Blades of Glory" by Jon Rosengren.

That book is on my "gotta pick it up and read it one of these days" list.

I've attended the tournament since I was a kid. And I ALWAYS cheer for the northern teams. (Unless I'm in the press box, then I keep the cheering to myself.)

I turned to the dark side on my hiatus from here. ;)

    Blades of Glory was good.

Interesting stuff on the kids, though I was left wanting more about Saterdalen.

What's Saterdalen up to these days? I remember them talking about it during this year's tourney telecast, but I'm drawing a blank right now.

Hill-Murray is correct. Beat Duluth East for 1991 championship. Bloom Jeff won the 1992 Tier I championship while Greenway of Coleraine won Tier II/65th-best team contest.
