Hey Reuters: It goes first name, last name; not last name, first name

Hey, I'll gladly invest some stimulus package money on a sweet hi-def and cover games for Reuters like I was there. AND LIVE ON THE OBX AT THAT.

Somebody obviously read Jackie Mac's story about "Ray" and his OCD. Did you notice how the writer kept referring to the pitcher as Wang throughout the story after using it as his first name in the first graf?

*To understand my post, you had to have read my posts on the Jackie Mac thread.

This isn't as simple as a blatant mistake.

Chinese (and he's Taiwanese) put the family name first and the given name second.

Reuters style might simply be to do it in the conventional Western way.

    OK, I'll give you that.

But why was a guy writing a game story for Reuters that was played in Cleveland while reporting on it from North Carolina?

This became a two-issue thread; I was simply weighing in on the first, that this is not necessarily complete dumbassery.

Don't know on the second. :)

Ah, well, I'm not my BYH's keeper.

Actually, the town looks like a miniature golf course.

If a guy can cover Yankees-Indians from the Outer Banks for Thomson Reuters, can I cover motorsports for them? I could have done a bangup job on the Grand Prix of Spain from my house here in the States!

Do you think shit like this fazes Reuters? This is a news organization that invented a humanitarian crisis/massacre at Jenin.

During last year's steampipe explosion in New York, Reuters moved an alert that said "a building has collapsed."

And God help you if you ever try to call them about anything.
