Thing with Sirius is they know they will never make money with Stern considering how much they pay him, but they know they will lose their ass without him.

Pretty good story on Stern from the WaPo a few days ago before he signed the new contract.

Is Howard Stern going soft or just getting sharper?

When Stern joined Sirius (now SiriusXM) in January 2006 for a $500 million five-year contract, the company had fewer than a million subscribers; just a year later, the company had 6 million subscribers, and Stern earned a hefty stock bonus.

Now, the question is whether Stern will stay put on satellite. His second five-year contract is up at the end of the year, and SiriusXM now has 29 million subscribers.

When y'all talk about Stern, I imagine I feel how New Yorkers feel when folks down south talk about Finebaum.
