    I was led to believe it's pronounced "Clempson" in the Upstate. Most words have letters that are seen but pronounced silent. You can't see the 'P' in Clempson, but spend any amount of time in Oconee County, and you'll know it's supposed to be in there somewhere.

    Clempson = sober Tigers fan.
    Clumson = drunk Tigers fan.
