    Meet Tropical Storm Paloma.

Expected to be a Cat2 by tomorrow and deliver yet more hurricane nastiness to Cuba, then make a mess in the Bahamas before tearing off toward either Bermuda or the Azores. In that, it's kind of like a European tourist.

OK, raise your hand if you've ever known anyone in your entire lifetime named Paloma.

    Not here.

I guarantee that had you walked into the Meatpacking District on any weeknight 10 years ago, you'd have met a TS named Paloma. Maybe three or four, in fact.

Is God trying to sink Cuba this year? Gustav was borderline Cat 5 at landfall, Ike was borderline Cat 4 at landfall, and now this.

"Paloma" is German for "whale's vagina."
