The show illustrated that safety William White decided to cover the tight end instead of the deep route. As I recall, White took a lot of shit back then from Honolulu blue too.

I just couldn't resist. I was going to mention it anyway and LJB posted right in front of me. Just a coincidence, I swear.

Man, LJB, you sure as hell know your dysfunctional football teams. Sure you're not a Bears fan?

Nope. I just study sick football teams. Some people are into cars and boats and porn.

These shows are great. Thanks for the heads up. I hope they start doing some new ones like this game. I know some people who lost a lot of money on this one.

Did somebody set off a flare in the third deck of the Silverdome that day? Check out the top of the photo.

Or was it the usual gunplay. :D

I swear, the Silverdome employed maybe five security guards for an 80,000-seat stadium. When I went there in 1995, it was like going to a sporting event from the 70s when drunken brawls were the norm.

You saw the Sox play at the old Comiskey?

The Silverdome always had a strange murky haze inside. Was at a game at the Silverdome on a windy day in 1996 and the fans would open up all the exit doors on one end of the stadium when the opposing team was going for a field goal or extra point.

Being the Lions and them being Lions fans, it did not have the desired effect.

It wasn't just old Comiskey. My earliest recollections of going to Brewers games as a young kid in the 70s was that every game was good for one or two fan brawls, double that if it was the White Sox or Yankees in town. One I keenly remember was some white guy with a 'fro getting pulled down by his 'fro by a Milwaukee cop.

Then fan behavior suddenly perked up in the early 80s.

Bill James wrote about this in one of his historical abstracts. Said Royals games were like that in the 70s too before things settled down.

Nice of the Silverdome to keep the brawling spirit alive into the 90s! I sat in the mezzanine (?) level for a 4 p.m. Packers game in '95 and I saw probably eight brawls in the lower level and at least as many in the upper level from my vantage point. Some Lions fan in front of me said Packers fans were always starting shit.

    Right.

I post this out of sheer weirdness and because BYH will love it.

I give you, the Majik man working his axe ...

    Holy crap. That was disturbing.

But how great was it when the camera shot caught Majik Man playing next to a poster picturing Brett Favre?
