  11. Yes, because the mucking around with an abortive coup had absolutely nothing to do with Chavez'z re-election last time. Our committment to democracy in that part of the world, as you know, 'yab, extends only to those mandarins who do not inconvenience us. Chavez declined to be Allende.
    And anyone who doesn't think there was some American money mixed in this campaign is fooling themselves.

    You know what I've been thinking lately? That the US ought to be more like China when it comes to foreign policy, total self interest. What ever makes China richer & stronger is how China conducts itself.
