  1. Looks like your man got hurt today in spring training.

Oakland's Lou Merloni rolls on the ground after being hit in the head by a pitch from Kansas City's Matt Wright in the 10th inning of a spring training game Tuesday in Phoenix. Merloni left the game and was scheduled to see a doctor. The Royals went on to win 3-2 in 10 innings.

  2. Matt Wright - dead!

  3. I swear to God, I didn't even know Lou still was playing.

Apparently Matt Wright was trying to do all of us a favor by hitting former Red Sox players in the head. Now, if he would only switch to hitting current Red Sox players in the head.

  6. Looks like somebody tried.

I wish to God I covered the A's. Then, when Sweet Lou was shipped out to Sacramento at the end of camp, I could lead my notes package (he said package) witih the headline SO LONG FRAMINGHAM.

Only Huggy will get that, and he's probably not lurking here. :D
