.....Yakov Smirnoff called. He wants his act back.

I watched about two minutes of this guy on Letterman last night and it was painfully unfunny. I turned the TV off and continued reading my college alumni magazine.

You watched two minutes? Well that makes you qualified ::)

Sasha Baron Cohen's television show is the funniest, smartest TV since Seinfeld. But let the backlash begin, I suppose.

    In Russia, television watch you.

Also now, Branson, Republic of Missouri.

Movie looks funny as hell to me. Then again, I thought Talladega Nights would be great (thanks to the hype), and it was merely good.

Maybe it seems that way after watching him for two minutes, but that comparison isn't even close.

Yakov Smirnoff is to Borat as Andy Rooney is to Lewis Black.

Yakov Smirnoff is to Borat as Gallagher II is to Richard Pryor.

  7. Even analogically, and accepting your point as valid, Borat and Richard Pryor?
    Survey says, No Fucking Way.

I wasn't suggesting that Borat is in Pryor's category. I was suggesting that we're talking about two completely different end of the talent spectrum.

There's a reason why Smirnoff is playing hotels in Branson, Mo. and there's a reason why some are suggesting that Borat is the funniest movie to come out in years...

Borat is going to be on Howard Stern tomorrow... Should be a fucking classic...

    There's nothing wrong with Branson.

From what little I've seen of Borat, my first impression was also of Yakov Smirnof. Hasn't made me laugh yet.

He hasn't made you laugh yet? Have you ever seen the show?!
