Peter Gammons, folks, talking about A-Rod.

You know what? If that's what people with the Yankees are saying, Gammons shouldn't be apologizing. He is reporting. And that's a worthy point for him to make.

Gammons was saying it to insult A-Rod, but I find it to be a valuable insight into just how fucked up this situation is and the huge role the Yankees are playing in it.

So it's not really Peter Gammons talking about ARod. It's Peter Gammons talking about what Yankee staffers are allegedly saying about ARod.

I think it's hard to tell whether he's quoting the Yankees staffers or whether he's adding his commentary to the Yankee staffers general point. Someone done said something dumb, though, whether it was Gammons or the Yankees.

Gammons made a mistake and apologized for it. Story's over, as far as I'm concerned. No need to burn him at the stake.

In fairness, whoever wrote that ought to hide his/her head in shame.
