I have no issue with background checks, like most people.

I'm a little concerned about the executive order syndrome. The President has spoke about the attempt to pass this through the Senate years ago. There's been elections since then? Try again. The "I lost so I'm doing it anyway" doesn't sit well with me.

And the applause and smirks and partisan shots throughout this thing....I find them unbecoming. I agree with him and hes making me question it with his general attitude. Thats just me.

Obama turned on the waterworks just now.

Couldn't hear what he was saying, though.

Sixty-five more executive orders this year and Obama will catch up with George W. Bush, 137 more to pull even with Bill Clinton.

I'm more concerned about the substance than the quantity.

Another 154, and he ties Reagan.

Come on, Barack, you can do it!

What does that mean? Presidents are entitled (in my opinion obligated) to do whatever they legally can to carry out their priorities in office.

Just for interest's sake, wonder how many EO's from 1937 on were directly tied to a Bill of Rights issue.

I'm guessing it means there's a little bit of a difference between, say, an executive order to study "Energy Efficient Standby Power Devices" and one creating a whole new federal, executive-level department like Homeland Security.

Doesn't matter. Just know that Obama tears can dissolve the constitution.
