Oh, I never said Claire's dad wasn't a bad guy. I just said him and Sylar were not working together. Obviously something bigger is up with Claire's dad: the facility to just name one. I too have a small thought that he might have killed the Good Doc (I can't really spell his real name Sherash?). There's a chance he might have.

However, we got a small tease of what Claire's dad sort of does.

I just thought of this with Sylar, well it just hit me. His power is his ability to see how things work (watch, brain). He can sense when something is broken. He can see the inner workings of a watch and when he saw Brian, he got a quick glimpse of his brain and it's 'inner workings'. He cuts off the top part of the head to look at the brain and then tweaks his somehow to get that power.

I also think Mica(h) is the good guy version of Sylar. However, he can fix things by touch (phone).

If that is Sylar's power, then how does the Good Doc know that he is evil?

    ****SPOILER****

Sylar killed The Good Doc. In the one scene where the soccer boy visits Doc's Son, it shows the The Good Doc's attacker. At the one point where his head is getting smashed into the window, you see the attacker's watch. It is the same watch shown on Sylar's wrist (broken glass face) at the Texas eatery before Hiro's girlfriend is murdered.

Yeah, I don't know. I was just so lost without for a while. But seriously, I got through phases. It's good to be back, though.

You watched the ep right? Didn't notice how quick Chandra (The Good Doc) was to push Sylar away. There was rage in Sylar when he was storming out and judging from whatever was on the Doc's computer screen during the test, it sent an alarm to him.

Nice analysis. I think you are spot on about how Sylar works, attaining the powers of those he kills.
I was thinking the same thing about Micah.
Also, Claire's dad definitely knows more than he is letting on.
You could tell in his visit with Dr. Suresh.

What was the deal with Nathan Petrelli "flying" uncontrollably at the time of the accident? Was someone else controlling him? Did he set the whole thing up for sympathy votes?
I need to see the pilot; I missed it and have been trying to fill holes ever since.

Here's the thing: Wasn't Sylar killed, or knocked unconcious at the end of not this past episode, but the previous one. Where the cheerleader was saved by, who, Peter? The black guy and the girl who can make people do things by saying those things are bad, too, i believe.

As for Claire's father, i agree that he's not totally swell. But he seems immune to the powers. Last night's episode showed that. The chick with black hair who got pulled over for speeding and drinking was caught. Claire's father was questioning her and she tried to pull the same stunt. He didn't fall for it and went and saw the Good Doc.

I just think this is an outstanding show. Really. I'm hooked. And IJAG, I use one of those old-fashioned VCR things. Works fine.

I think the uncontrollable flying was a symptom of him just discovering his powers. It's kind of like in Smallville, where the hero learns of his powers in moments of need. He saw what was coming and his subconscious unleashed the power of flight to him. He didn't "know" how to do it, so his instincts took over and he was out of the car.

I'm not so sure the father is immune. I think the nameless black guy is the one who block mutant powers. Remember that when the cop was first realizing he can read minds, he was looking around the bar and reading everyone until he looked at the black guy and he was a total blank. The black-haired girl couldn't penetrate it with her mind and Sylar couldn't use his telekinesis against him.

I'm assuming the black guy can only stop mind powers, because Nathan Petrelli was able to fly away from him. I also think that makes him invaluable to Mr. Bennett and I expect we'll see some conflict there later in the show.

Now that you bring that up (about the black guy), that makes sense. i still think the black guy, the girl with the mind power, and sylar are all evil. i think Claire's down is moderately evil. and everyone else is good.

    EXCELLENT catch. I missed that.

As far as the politician flying uncontrollably at the time of the accident, I think that happened for the same reason that Hiro accidently teleported to Japan as he was going to kiss the waitress. Their powers emerge in a moment of extreme stress or emotion and they do so in an uncontrollable manner.

I don't think Claire's father is immune at all. I think that's what the guy working for him can do, among other things, cancel out the powers of others.

Totally guessing on both counts, and probably applying ideas from growing up on X-Men comics.

...darn, Big Pern beat me to some of that stuff!

A theory on the interwebs is that the Heroes are getting their power as a result from a Hanso Corp or DHARMAS experiment.
You know, the people from Lost.
