    2005 - DC (Ravens) - 5th-ranked D
    2006 - DC (Ravens) - 1st-ranked D
    2007 - DC (Ravens) - 6th-ranked D
    2008 - DC/asst. HC (Ravens) - 2nd-ranked D
2009 - HC (Jets) - 1st-ranked D, top rushing offense, AFC Championship w/ rookie QB.
    2010 - HC (Jets) - 3rd-ranked D, another conference final berth.

    His bravado overshadows his production.

Let's not forget that great human being Herm lied repeatedly to the media on the way out of Jetsville.

Winning builds character, losing reveals it.

Herm's OK. He's somewhere right in the middle in terms of NFL coach performance. But please, let's not discuss these guys in terms of what they're like as human beings, because basically none of them are. They are people who have surrendered their lives and souls to the dark side of the rush of competition. Doesn't make them bad. Does make them too weird for words.

Thx for stopping by Herm. Learn how to manage a game clock huh!
You play to win the game Herm. You can't win in the NFL when your Offense only runs 38 plays from scrimmage.

Herm seems like a good guy. He does a lot of charitable work. They love him down in Tampa, where I used to live.

But, here's what I don't get: Sarah Palin's kid gets knocked up and everyone uses it as evidence she's a bad mother and a poor role model.

Yet, no one questions Herm's status as a man, a father, and a role model.

It's just odd. I feel terrible for him, and I don't think he's a bad person or father.

But, I'm not sure I'd put him on a pedestal either.

    Edited for stupidity.
