    I -- and many others -- don't even call the News in Denver the News. It's the Rocky.
    The Globe - Boston
    The Sun - My former/hometown paper in SoCal
    The Post - Washington.
    The Times - Los Angeles
    The Herald - Miami
    The Chronicle - San Francisco
    The Star - Kansas City

    The Globe -- supermarket checkout tabloid
    The Sun -- Baltimore
    The Post -- New York
    The Times -- Seattle
    The Herald -- Arlington Heights

    *I've heard so many fellow journalists puff up their chests and tell people they're from "the WASHINGTON Post" or "the NEW YORK Times" that anything short of that seems like it must be one of those "lesser" places.

    I'd be curious what the first paper people think of when they hear

    The News -- first thing that popped into my head is Detroit, for some reason, not sure why.
    The Globe -- Boston.
    The Sun -- Clearwater (seriously, always my first thought, even though it's gone).
    The Post -- Washington.
    The Times -- Los Angeles.
    The Herald -- Miami.
