Seen Eastern Promises, Knocked Up and Superbad.

Girlfriend is making me pick what to see tonight...

    Appreciate any advice.

Go see Michael Clayton. It's got George Clooney, so she should be happy.

  4. Uh, Mayfly, did you not read the first sentence?

BTW, Elliotte, what did you think of Eastern Promises?

    Across the Universe was fun.

  6. Forgot about that one. Definitely looks interesting.

Really liked Eastern Promises. Naomi Watts was kind of annoying and I saw too much of Viggo (what is Cronenberg's fascination with seeing this guy naked?), but it was generally quite good.

Dually noted. I hear the new one with Jamie Foxx is pretty good.

Edit: "The Kingdom" I believe it's called

You think E-F's girlfriend will like seeing a shoot-em-up?

  10. The wife is quite interested in seeing too much of Viggo.

A good movie is a good movie, regardless of the circumstances involved. If a good movie involves a shoot-em-up, then why not watch it if it's good cinema? A bad example would be Saving Private Ryan, of which I first though of, but The Departed was pretty good. I took my girlfriend to see "300" when it came out since she wanted to see it.
