Help! I need a mother-son song for my wedding

My wedding is coming up in a little less than six weeks, and the future Mrs. and I are in the process of finalizing music selections. We have our first dance song picked out, and I think she has something in mind for her dance with her dad. I have absolutely no freaking idea what song to pick for the dance with my mom. I asked her, and she's drawing a blank too.

Every one of those websites with suggested songs have the pretty much the same obvious choices, and none are appealing. I'm looking for something a little off the beaten path, modern if possible, and devoid of incesty overtones.

    Any suggestions?

I was going to link to the thread about this topic from December, but then I read it and realized there was exactly one actual suggestion, and it came from google searches.

I'd steer away from "Mother" by John Lennon.

"The Wish" by Bruce Springsteen is nice, but pretty specific.

There's a spot in my heart,
    Which no colleen may own.
There's a depth in my soul,
    Never sounded or known;

    There's a place in my mem'ry,
    My life, that you fill,
    No other can take it,
    No one ever will.

Chorus: Sure, I love the dear silver
    That shines in your hair,
And the brow that's all furrowed,
    And wrinkled with care.
    I kiss the dear fingers,
    So toil-worn for me,
Oh, God bless you and keep you,
    Mother Machree.

    Ev'ry sorrow or care
In the dear days gone by,
Was made bright by the light
Of the smile in your eye,

    Like a candle that's set
    In the window at night,
Your fond love has cheered me
    And guided me right.

    CHORUS
    I kiss the dear fingers,
    So toil-worn for me,
Oh, God bless you and keep you,
    Mother Machree.

For some reason, the song that pops into my head is The Beatles' "Mother Nature's Son."

Of course, if I were going to pick a song for MY mother, it'd be "Go Your Own Way," so don't go by me. :p

Although, I think Butterfly Kisses (besides sucking more than Without You) is really a father-daughter song.

    You know, this isn't easy.

    - Beautiful song, but just not right. Neither is Landslide.

I'd just pick a song you both like - or just let mom choose. And don't be afraid to make it an uptempo number.

People really don't need lyrics to figure out it's the mother-son song, that she's your mom and that you share an emotional bond. And if you're concerned people might go "huh?" at the song, grab the mike and introduce the song and explain its significance.
