So, I've got a friend who is going in for total hip replacement surgery in a few weeks. She had surgery about two months ago on her hip, and they botched it. After two months on crutches, they've now figured out that the top of her femur is now dying, so they've gotta go back in and do the total replacement. I'm putting together a CD for her to listen to while she's recuperating and — being a smartass — decided to have a little fun with it.

    So far, the tracks include:
"What is Hip?" Tower of Power
    "The Crutch," The Tossers
"Hip To Be Square," Huey Lewis & The News
"Hip Hop Hooray," Naughty By Nature

So, SportsJournalists.commers, I ask you: Any other smartass suggestions?

How about "Lawyers in Love," Killick, because it sounds like your friend might have a case.

    A dead femur bone??? Yikes.

    Thanks, all.

And, Coco, I think she's in a bit of a pinch — she works for the hospital where they did the surgery. I mentioned legal action to her, though. She waffled... "jobs not easy to come by now, kid just started college, she actually likes the hospital, anyone can error," yadda-yadda-yadda.

Believe me, I'm usually as anti-lawsuit (and lawyers) as anyone, but a hip replacement is a huge deal to endure. Of course, I don't know how bad the original problem was.

Hope your friend has a speedy recovery, thanks to your "hip" music, Killick!

There are days when life is going just as planned, and then I see thread titles like this and I realized why I've been a member for over six years.
