I worked with Goodman a few years back in Alabama. He's a solid writer. Good kid, hope he gets a shot at the job.

    Ladies and gentlemen:
Michael Wallace, the former Jackson Clarion-Ledger columnist/enterprise reporter, has accepted the Herald's Heat backup/GA job, sources told Moland Spring.
Wallace covered Ole Miss for the C-L for four years before being promoted this past December. Prior to that, he has covered Florida State hoops and the Charlotte Hornets on various levels.

Congratulations to Mike, he'll do a tremendous job.

So another opening at the Clarion-Ledger?
  12. I doff my headwear in Mike Wallace's general direction. He's 10 times better a person than he is a reporter, and he is pretty damn good at that as it is. Miami has made a wise decision.
