EAST BEND — The owners of The Mount Airy News and The Tribune in Elkin have dropped a two-year-old lawsuit that alleged former publishers Mike Milligan and Rebel Good "crippled" its newspapers in June 2007 by taking key employees and information with them to start The Messenger, a new community newspaper.

Good for The Messenger, although, in this economic climate, it seems that both papers took hits on this lawsuit that they didn't need.
