    Exactly, GB. We use all-cap hammerheds (we're a tabloid). Ain't a thing wrong with it.

    Again, we should be more worried about the content of articles AND NOT THE STYLE OR FONT OF THE DAMN HEDS.

    I've learned in the last 3 years all-cap heds only work twice: When Katrina kills scores of thousands, and Saddam's execution slouches us toward WWIII.

    Add: Hyperbole all around.

    Hammers are different than regular heds.

    Doing Something Like This Is Just Annoying.

    All Initial Caps Is Just Too Ugly For Words

    Makes it too hard to read, mainly because it's in complete disagreement with proper English.

    But all-caps has its uses ...

    ROASTED NUTS!

    If there's a 9/11-like event or the world is coming to an end, sure, go ahead. Otherwise, no.

    My shop used to use up style hedes. On my second week on the job, I changed it to down style. I've used small caps or all caps depending on the story, but those instances are rare.
