Hawks owner will sell team after racist e-mail surfaces

    Seems like those were Levenson points. It's more a socio-economic issue than a racial issue. There are plenty of poor white people, too.

    Because too many of the fans are African-American?

    Atlanta pro teams have never drawn as well as their counterparts in other cities. Not sure why. Sure, when the Braves and Falcons exceed expectations, people jump on the bandwagon as a novelty thing. But when the teams start losing, those same fans jump off the bandwagon in droves.

    When were the Hawks a hot ticket? Only time I can remember was the Hubie Brown years in the late 70s, very early 80s when they made the playoffs for the first time and were something of a novelty.
