Have you ever wanted to pull a Chris Snow?

    If someone starts at a paper, then goes to the local university to be an SID, then returns to the paper ... doesn't that seem like some sort of conflict of interest? I mean, maybe it isn't, because he's removed, but I think that having that "inner circle" and other SIDs to work over might not be fair nor ethical.

    seems like a conflict of interest to me based on the definition that anything that appears to be a conflict is a conflict. if i were boss i'd make it so he doesn't write about anything UNLV-related.

    No conflict of interest. It's not like he's working for the paper and the university at the same time.

    It's called "competitive advantage".
