Hasek is a sure-fire Hall of Famer.

Another guy who was pretty much overlooked--10th round, 199 overall and was Eddie Belfour's back-up in Chicago before he was traded to the Sabres.

When he was with Buffalo, he was--and this is inarguable--the best goalie in the world.

Actually, none of those have retired.

Except for Hasek now. There's a rumor that Sakic might this offseason.

And loads of a goalies picked up a lot of bad habits trying to emulate his style. There was only one Dominator.

Yup, because they didn't realise that his flopping around and swimming in the crease was all calculated.

I saw him play a couple of times and what you don't see on TV was how technically superb he was --hardly ever out of position.

But in the tradition of Gump Worsley, he just stopped pucks.

Really? For some reason I thought Roenick had. Cool... I can name 19. Not bad for someone who hasn't watched one second of hockey in six years.

I don't dislike the sport, I just haven't been interested in it.

Hey, I'm not even a Sabres fan. Just figured I'd save them the trouble ...

    Classic Bettman moment.

Institute a stupid rule, zero tolerance for the entire season except for well, the Cup winning goal.

And then change the rule the following year.

    Incompetence par excellence.

As I recall, Don Cherry called it. He railed all season against the rule and predicted it would be an issue in determining the legitimacy of a Stanley Cup-winning goal.
