Has Mike Myers run out of ideas?

Just saw an ad on Yahoo for his new movie, The Love Guru.

I watched the trailer.

I want my two minutes back.

This is Austin Powers reincarnated.

Same dance scenes, same make fun of [insert physical deformity here], same little person appearance, same fake [insert foreign accent here], etc. etc.

 

Between Myers, Ben Stiller and Will Ferrell, originality is is pretty hard to find. Ferrell at least gets credit for doing something different, and well, in Stranger Than Fiction.

 

Myers' entire catalog hasn't aged that well, it seems. Very '90s.

It's still a shame he didn't make the "Sprockets" movie. That could have been tremendous, if done right.

 

True, but the smart money was on it being dreadful, like so many other SNL movies.

 

I don't know, Shrek seemed to do OK and I loved So I Married an Ax Murderer, so it's not like he only has Wayne's World and Austin Powers (which in itself would be great careers for most comedians).

 

I agree that Ax Murderer holds up well. Can't pass it by when I'm channel surfing.

 

that's only because ole what's her name was so smokin' hot at the time.
