    I wonder what other services she refused to perform for patrons based on her personal religious beliefs. If someone asks her for a Harry Potter book, does she give it to them?

    there probably really is much more to this story. i can't imagine if she said to her boss, "look, i'm really against these books" that any boss would have tried to work something out. and since when is emptying a return box too strenuous? like every library, i'm sure there were totes to put books in, and it's not like you have to carry all the books at once. sounds like a litigious whiner.
