Given the number of ball fans around here, surprised no one's posted this

Roy Halladay is off to the Phillies in a three way deal that involve the Mariners.

Jays get some prospects and end up paying $6 million of this year's salary.

Halladay for a bag of pucks

Going to opening day every year for the last five or so and sitting behing home plate watching him pitch was the highpoint of the baseball year .

He and Mats Sundin weretwo of the best and classiest athletes Toronto has seen.

And thank God he didn't go to the Red Sox or Yankees.

We've been talking about it for 24 hours in the baseball thread, but you are quite forgiven for missing it since it quickly "escalated" into a patented SJ pissing/dickswinging match.

    That sounds messy.

Interesting that the Blue Jays are picking up $6 million of Halladay's salary in 2009. I hadn't seen that bit before.

Fortunately, there's a not-very-proud drunk dog willing to lick up the mess.

Yeah, the Phils are clearing the space for Halladay with the $6M from Toronto and the $9M from Lee. And if you think the folks up that way aren't regretting Jamie Moyer at $8M this year, you're sadly mistaken.

    Now that's just gross.

$8 mil is a small price to pay for veteran leadership, though. I mean, it's not every day players can learn from someone who pitched on the same day the Titanic sunk.

Not as gross as making some poos.

You apparently missed the running Hot Stove thread:

Yeah, but it deserves its own thread.
