Grateful for the dream that was 2018, made all the sweeter after some seriously bad times. Hopeful for another good year in 2019. I wish the same for all of you. This place is one of the great strange stories in the history of the Internet. Happy New Year, fellow weirdoes.

Happy New Year from Singapore. Early reports suggest 2019 will continue to be as hot and humid was 2018 was. YMMV (Your Meteorology May Vary).

I'll be too high at midnight to post.

2018 is one I’m happy to have in the rear view. My wife and my father both lost their older brothers.

My dad had to watch alcohol slowly erode my uncle, who to his credit never let his drinking harm anyone but himself. My dad has always been the rock in our family, but now he’s just that much more alone as the oldest person in our family.

My wife got a call from her father around midnight in early July. The poor guy had to tell his daughter that his son was killed in a workplace accident. My wife’s parents are divorced, and this has only widened the divisions that already existed. She is now learning how to be the rock for her grieving mother, father and sister.

Our bad times are not unique or exceptional by any means, but my household is relieved to put 2018 behind us.

A happy new year to you and yours. May 2019 treat us all well!

I've had some good years recently and 2018 was among the best I've ever had.
However, 2019 will be even better.

Limited years left, you know? Have to make all of them really count.

Happy New Year to the rest of you.
