Happy Loyalty Day

Discussion in 'Sports and News' started by Evil Bastard (aka Chris_L), May 2, 2012.

  1. President Barack Obama has proclaimed May 1st to be Loyalty Day.

Seriously. Can you imagine the backlash if a Republican did something like this? May 1st? Seriously. It is becoming parody yet some of you will not see that the joke is on you.

Originated in 1921, officially designated by Congress in 1958, and every president except Johnson and Nixon have officially issued proclamations since, even if Loyalty Day has its roots in fears commies were going to take over the U.S.

So I don't have to imagine what would happen if a Republican did this.

Also, Loyalty Day was yesterday, so you're going to have to pick up a belated Loyalty Day card.

Actually, I believe Hallmark has reserved that day on August 3... Or did I miss a recent memo?

Today is National Day of Prayer:

Obama signed the proclamation. Can't imagine what would happen if a Republican would do the same thing.
