I think we have yet to mention that the real Buck Weaver would be 117 years old, while our buckweaver is a mere 26.

And yet ... you can barely tell us apart.

Except for that whole "banned from baseball" thing, I guess.

My birthday is full of even more fail. When I was a kid, the only 7/12 I could ever remember off the back of a baseball card was Tony Armas. And it turns out, it must have been a misprint or I was high on Topps' osmium-hard bubble gum, as Armas was actually born on July 2.

That leaves me with Mario Soto as the only player from my "era" worth a shit on my own birthday, but I'll be rooting for Tom Gorzelanny to rise about his Pirates suckitude to join Soto in my birthday HoF.

Good God. The best July 12 player before my time is Ron Fairly. My birthday bites.

Ed Kirkpatrick. That was the highlight of my Topps cards when I was a kid. Do you know how depressing that is as a kid? A player you never heard of off a team that sucked?

Happy birthday to buckweaver, who at times entertains me, schools me, makes me smile or makes me frustrated.

You're one of the good ones, as already mentioned here myriad times, but I will say this that BYH can't say: First beer in Seattle is on me! :D
