NEW YORK -- ESPN anchor Hannah Storm will return to the air on New Year's Day, exactly three weeks after she was seriously burned in a propane gas grill accident at her home.

Storm suffered second-degree burns on her chest and hands, and first-degree burns to her face and neck. She lost her eyebrows and eyelashes, and roughly half her hair.

    Best of luck to Hannah.
She is a good reporter and the story sounds very traumatic.
We all cherish our good health.

I wasn't familiar with this story until now.
Good to hear that she's coming back.

Hannah is one of the good people in our business. Here's hoping for a full and pain-free recovery.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one that didn't know this news. With it being the holiday season, I just assumed she was off.
Best wishes in a speedy healing process and I hope she does well on camera tomorrow.

Does this mean that ESPN covered up a newsworthy story ?

Just did a google search for this story prior to a few days ago and nothing came up...so, they did a good job of keeping it quiet.

A bit off topic but propane scares me. Had a couple fireballs with it and my idiot brother-in-law almost ruined a birthday gathering by not opening up the lid of a barbecue when he lit it. Fortunately no one hurt but it was a a scary bang.
I am switching to charcoal next spring.
