What do you think? He will be eligible next year.

He might not have had the best stats but he was the best big game pitcher of his era.

Not trying to be funny here, but was he the best fat pitcher of all time?

He won 249 games and was the ace of the best team in history, the 1998 Yankees. Also has the perfect game.

I'd put Valenzuela and Lolich over him in the pantheon of fat pitchers. But I'd take Wells over Rich Garces and Francisco Barrios.

Ruben Quevedo was the fattest MLB pitcher in terms of sheer lard.

Does CC qualify as a 'fat' pitcher?

Best big game pitcher of his era? Like when he pulled out after one inning in the 2003 World Series because of gout, not having warned his manager or coaches? That was a huge turning point.

Wells is not a Hall of Famer, and I'd take at least five other pitchers before him, maybe more.

I think Valenzuela, Lolich, Wells and Rick Reuschel would make an great four-man unlimited buffet rotation.

C.C. is still active, so he's not up for consideration yet

Actually, yes, I do have it. But, if I was pitching a World Series game, I'd probably tell my manager about it.

Right, but I can see him ballooning to close to 400 pounds as he gets older. Most people that are 300 punds at age 30 keep getting bigger.

Everyone knew he had gout. It wasn't a secret.
