Just when I thought SI was losing a whole bunch of talent, they gained Hack. Good pick-up by SI and a good choice by Hack.

Hack is very much overrated. Just my opinion.

I had no idea he was that young...

    Great hire...

  6. Glad to see 35 is considered young.

I like Damon very much ... his writing and as a person.
But how many golf writers does SI need? Van Sickle, Shipnuk, Garrity, Bamberger and now Damon. I know Damon will also cover the NFL but that's a little top-heavy for a niche sport.

I'm guessing this is mostly NFL since this is Silver's position...

Hack leaves The New York Times for SI; ESPN signs Redskins beat writer (sorry, forgot name) from Washington Post; Adande leaves LA Times for ESPN...the trend continues.

    That would be Howard Bryant.
    But what's the trend?

Thank you... Trend? That even the top newspapers (NY/LA Times, WP) in country can't keep its stud reporters. To leave The New York Times or Washington Post says a lot to me, personally. It's a great move across the board for all of these reporters. I'm not arguing that. I just brought up the three most recent hires that I know of from national papers

Those papers can still hire almost anyone they want.
